Rhos Market Garden, Knighton

We’re Alice Tite and Mick Westrip and we run Rhos Organic Market Garden along with our wholefoods shop in Knighton, Powys. We use organic principles to grow veg and flowers on our 3- acre plot and have been organic certified through the Soil Association since 2010. We look after the soil with crop rotation, green manures and compost and try to work with nature and encourage beneficial insects with hedgerows, wide headlands, a pond and flowers. We enjoy watching the wildlife flourish alongside our crops.

We run a box scheme delivering to the local towns of Knighton, Presteigne and Beguildy. And our shop in Knighton sells seasonal veg and flowers grown by us and other organic growers, as well as organic wholefoods, local bread, cleaning products and refills. We’re lucky to have plenty of help, including Adam Davies, who has worked with us on the market garden from the beginning, and our two daughters, who work with us in the holidays. We also sell bunches of our own flowers and supply flowers for weddings.
